FAQ

Special, APO or FPO Ordering Instructions - If you would like delivery made to an APO or FPO address we have discovered that many of the zip codes used for APO and some FPO addresses are brand new and not in our online shipping module leased from the post office. This means that we will have to get a credit card # and expiration date by email to charge the shipping. If you are concerned about security we recommend you send these two pieces of info in separate emails as one is not any good without the other.

Error Messages When Ordering - If you get an error message saying the address you entered does not match the credit card, please check and make sure you are entering the right address for that card and try again. Perhaps the card is in your spouses name, or the card is connected to a business address....If the error message persists, try another credit card. If that doesn’t work, contact us and we will figure out a way to get your order completed.

Ordering Gifts for Someone Else - If your are ordering something for a gift and you don’t want the invoice put in the box, let us know and we will put in a gift page instead. We have a nice one designed for military gifts that says,

This box of fans comes from
“Your name”

wishing you
good thoughts
and
cool breezes!

What makes a fan operate quietly? There are actually several things that contribute to the quiet nature of these fans. First, the “finger safe blade” technology allows for the absence of any grill. This cuts down on the vibration chatter that can come from the grill. Also, the motor doesn’t have to work so hard to push the air, so the motor is quieter. Lastly, many of our fans have well engineered and highly efficient motors which are quiet by design.

Do you sell the AC adapters for the battery fans? ---Yes.

How long will it take for me to receive my product? Our normal delivery is within 10 days. If something is out of stock there will either be a notice posted where you order, or we will notify you by email concerning the delay in shipping your order. The number of days it takes to get a package from our warehouse to your location will vary depending on where you live. We ship from St. Louis, Missouri, in the center of the country. We always do our best to process all orders in a timely fashion.

Why do you want my email address and phone number? We collect email addresses and phone numbers solely for the purpose of communicating with you if an item is out of stock or another sort of problem needs to be addressed.

Can I get a replacement blade for my fan? We're sorry, but there is not enough demand for us to carry replacement blades.

How long will the battery fans last on one set of batteries? The MiniMax will last up to 500 hours on one set of batteries, depending on the RPM you use. For more information, see the individual product information sheets. (Go to Product List and click on the fan pictures to access those pages).

How reliable are these fans? As can be expected, the higher end fans will be much more reliable than the inexpensive fans. However, I would add that I personally have several fans from both the high and low end of the cost scale, and have found that each performs it’s duties to my expectation. I have had a MiniMax for 5 years with no problems. The plastic fans that are under $8 or so last about 1-2 seasons with very heavy use. (Sometimes, because they are so small, I actually lose them rather than having them wear out!)

What is the smallest and tallest of the fans? The Vectacor MightyMini is the smallest at 4.25” tall. However, if you’re looking for a whisper quiet small fan, the smallest would be the Tiny Tornado or the Wind Wand. They are about 6” tall. The largest is the Mistral Floor fan at 61”.

How much do these fans weigh? Again, this varies by fan type. Please read the product info sheets (go to Product List and click on the fan pictures to access those pages), for more exact weights. On all the battery fans, the majority of the weight will be the batteries.

Where can I find information on heat related problems? There is a link for this information on the home page. Also, check our links page for sites related to menopause and heat related work problems.

Are any of these fans noisy? All the Caframo fans are whisper quiet. I take my MiniMax into the movie theater on a regular basis. The Retro tabletop and floor fans are very quiet. The Ionic Wind fan is not too bad, but some of the smaller fans are a bit more noisy. They would not be appropriate for restaurants or movie theaters and the like. However, they would be great for the beach or in other situations where noise is not a factor. Each information page has a quietness scale on it. We have tried to rank the fans for quietness depending on where they could be used without disturbing anyone. When you look at the scale, please note that 4 of the positions are for QUIET FANS. We had to do that because so many of our fans are VERY QUIET and it was a bit hard to rate them against each other.

Can children be hurt by these fans? Any fan that talks about finger safe or super safe blades cannot hurt your child even if they stick their finger in to stop the blades. However, please read the product info carefully because not all the fans have this soft type blade.

Do you offer discounts for large orders? Yes we do. Please contact us and we can discuss your needs. Generally speaking, discounts begin at 10 units.
